Detailed Day-by-Day Itinerary
Day 1: Watamu to Tsavo East National Park
- 06:30 AM: Start your day with a hearty breakfast at Twiga Beach Resort, preparing for the adventure ahead.
- 07:00 AM: You will be picked up from the resort by our professional safari driver-guide in shared, comfortable custom safari vans or 4×4 Land Cruisers, specifically chosen for your group’s size.
- En Route: The drive inland will be an experience in itself, taking you through coastal villages, vast sisal plantations, and a gradual change of scenery to the semi-arid landscape characteristic of the Tsavo region.
- 11:30 AM – 12:00 PM: Arrive at the Bachuma Gate of Tsavo East National Park. After completing the entry formalities, your safari begins immediately with a thrilling midday game drive. This is an excellent time to spot Tsavo’s famous “red elephants” that get their unique color from the park’s red soil, as well as lions, giraffes, zebras, buffalo, and various species of antelope.
- 1:30 PM: You will arrive at Manyatta Camp, a beautifully located tented camp. Upon checking into your en-suite tented rooms, you’ll be greeted with stunning views of the surrounding wilderness.
- Lunch: A delicious buffet lunch will be served at the camp’s restaurant.
- Afternoon: The rest of the afternoon is yours to relax. You can take a refreshing dip in the camp’s swimming pool or simply unwind on your private veranda, watching for wildlife that may pass by.
- 04:00 PM – 06:30 PM: The day’s highlight is the sunset game drive. As the afternoon heat subsides, the animals become more active. This is the best time to spot predators on the prowl and observe large herds of elephants and other animals gathering at watering holes.
- Evening: Return to the camp for a sumptuous dinner, followed by a cozy bonfire under the stars, sharing stories of the day’s sightings.
- Meals Included: Breakfast at Twiga Beach, Lunch & Dinner at Manyatta Camp.
- Accommodation: Manyatta Camp (En-suite tented rooms with hot shower and modern amenities, configured as 8 double and 2 triple rooms).
Day 2: Tsavo East National Park to Watamu
- 06:00 AM: An early start is rewarded with an early morning game drive. The cool morning air is the ideal time to see predators like lions and leopards, as well as elephants and other wildlife, as they are most active during these hours.
- 08:00 AM: Return to Manyatta Camp for a full breakfast to energize you for the journey back.
- 09:30 AM: After breakfast, you will check out of the camp and begin the return journey to Twiga Beach Resort.
- 1:30 PM – 2:00 PM: Arrive back at Twiga Beach Resort in Watamu, where your safari adventure concludes.
- Meals Included: Breakfast at Manyatta Camp.
