Home / About Us
My name is Bramwel, and I was born in Kenya with roots that reach into Tanzania as well, a mix that has shaped how I see this part of the world. For fifteen years I worked as a guide in the Masai Mara before I ever thought about starting a company of my own. I spent those years learning which valley the lions favor in the dry season, which camp managers actually care about their guests, and what it looks like when a family sees an elephant up close for the first time, or when two people on their honeymoon go quiet at their first sunset over the plains.
In 2021, I started Holiday Kenya Safaris because I wanted to build the kind of company I would have recommended to my own guests during those years of guiding, one that treats every traveler’s trip as the one that matters most, whether that is a honeymoon, a family holiday, a trip with old friends, or a solo journey someone has been planning for years.
Before Holiday Kenya Safaris existed, I was in the field almost every day, driving guests through the Mara, across the Serengeti, and along the roads into Amboseli and Tsavo. That work taught me two things. First, that East Africa does not need embellishing, the wildlife and the landscapes carry the trip on their own. Second, that the difference between a good safari and a forgettable one almost always comes down to planning: the right camp for the right traveler, a pace that matches the group, and a guide who knows when to talk and when to let the moment sit.
We started small, with a handful of trusted lodge relationships and a real understanding of the parks, not a franchise template or a call center script. That is still how we operate today. Every itinerary that leaves our office has been shaped by someone who has actually been to the places we are recommending.
Guiding experience, not just booking experience
Our recommendations come from fifteen years of actually being in the field, not from a supplier catalogue. We know which camps deliver on their photos and which guides are worth requesting by name.
Personal attention at every stage
Every itinerary is built around a real conversation about who is travelling and what they want, not assembled from a fixed template.
A track record you can check
More than 1,000 travellers have safaried with us since 2021. We are proud of that number, and we work to make sure it keeps growing for the right reasons.
Open to every traveller, everywhere
Whoever you are and wherever you are travelling from, you will be planned for with the same care, the same honesty, and the same welcome.
Kenya is where most of my guiding years were spent, and the Masai Mara alone is worth the flight from almost anywhere. Beyond the Mara, we plan trips into Amboseli, Tsavo, Samburu, and the Laikipia conservancies, each one a genuinely different Kenya. Every route we put together comes from time actually spent in these places, not research done from behind a desk.
The Serengeti and the Ngorongoro Crater are two of the most complete wildlife experiences in Africa, and we have sent travelers of every kind there, honeymooners chasing the Great Migration, families wanting the classic safari experience, and groups combining Tanzania with a Kenya leg. We work with camps we know personally, not ones we have only seen in a brochure.
After days on safari, Zanzibar gives your trip a second half entirely. White sand, warm water, and a slower pace that suits couples and families equally well. We work with beachfront properties ranging from simple and comfortable to fully private, and we match the property to the traveler, not the other way around.
Honesty Over Sales: if the timing you want is not the best timing for what you are hoping to see, we will tell you, even if it costs us the booking.
Transparent Pricing: every cost is spelled out before you book. No fees that appear later.
Personal Service: one dedicated consultant from your first inquiry to your return home. You will not be repeating your story to a new person each time you write in.
Ongoing Quality Checks: we visit the properties we recommend and drop ones that stop meeting our standards.
Reachable Throughout Your Trip: your consultant’s number is in your itinerary for the full length of your journey.
We are not a booking agency reselling packages from another continent. Holiday Kenya Safaris is based in Nairobi, and this is where we live and work. Our relationships with camp managers and guides across the Mara, the Serengeti, and Zanzibar are personal ones, built over years, not transactions. We know which camps have the best access for a specific season, which guides are strongest with families and children, and which properties genuinely deliver on privacy for couples who want it. That on-the-ground knowledge is the difference between an itinerary built from a supplier list and one built from real experience.
A few things stay true no matter how many trips we plan. Not every group needs the same kind of safari, some travelers want fast-paced days packed with activity, others want long, slow mornings with nowhere to be. Wildlife does not perform on a schedule, and part of what makes a safari memorable is the unpredictability itself, we prepare every traveler for that reality rather than promising guaranteed sightings. Budget matters, and we would rather tell you honestly what a given budget can and cannot deliver than oversell an itinerary that will disappoint once you arrive. And communication matters most of all, the trips that go smoothly are almost always the ones where we understood exactly what a traveler wanted from the first conversation.
