This Privacy Policy explains what personal data we collect, why we collect it, how we use and protect it, who we share it with, and the rights you have over it. We process personal data in accordance with Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, and, where applicable, the data protection laws of the country you are travelling from.
2. What Personal Data We Collect

3. Why We Collect Your Data
We use your personal data to:
- Prepare quotations, process bookings, and arrange your safari itinerary, accommodation, park permits, and flights
- Share necessary details with camps, lodges, airlines, park and conservancy authorities, and permit-issuing bodies (including gorilla trekking permits in Rwanda and Uganda) strictly as needed to deliver your trip
- Communicate with you about your booking, including pre-trip briefings, itinerary changes, and travel advisories
- Process payments and maintain financial records as required by Kenyan law
- Respond to enquiries and provide customer support
- Send you marketing communications, only where you have opted in, and always with the option to unsubscribe
- Improve our website and services, and detect or prevent fraud and security issues
We collect passport, medical, and payment information only where it is necessary to arrange and deliver your trip, and we do not use this category of data for any marketing purpose.
4. Sharing Your Data with Third Parties
Arranging a safari holiday necessarily involves sharing some of your information with third parties. We share data only as needed to deliver the services you have booked, and we work only with suppliers we consider reputable. These third parties may include:
- Camps, lodges, and hotels, to confirm your reservation and any special requirements
- Airlines and ground transport operators, for flight and transfer bookings
- National park authorities, conservancies, and permit-issuing bodies in Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda, and Rwanda, where your itinerary requires park fees or trekking permits
- Payment processors and banks, to process deposits and balance payments
- Travel insurance providers, only where you have asked us to facilitate a policy on your behalf
We do not sell your personal data to third parties, and we do not share it for any purpose unrelated to arranging and supporting your trip, except where required by law.
5. Cookies and Website Analytics
Our website may use cookies and similar technologies to remember your preferences, understand how visitors use the site, and improve its performance. This may include analytics tools such as [confirm: e.g. Google Analytics] and, where used, advertising or retargeting pixels such as [confirm: e.g. Meta Pixel].
You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings. Disabling cookies may affect some website functionality, such as remembering your enquiry form details.
6. International Data Transfers
Because your trip may involve travel to Tanzania, Uganda, Rwanda, or Zanzibar, your data may be transferred to and processed by camps, permit authorities, or partner operators in those countries as part of arranging your itinerary. Where we transfer personal data outside Kenya, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled securely and only for the purpose of delivering your trip.
7. Data Retention
We retain booking and travel data for [confirm: typically 7 years] after your trip, in line with Kenyan financial record-keeping requirements. Enquiry details from prospective clients who do not proceed with a booking are retained for [confirm: typically 24 months] and then deleted, unless you have asked to remain on our mailing list.
Passport, medical, and other sensitive travel details are retained only for as long as needed to deliver your trip and meet legal record-keeping obligations, after which they are securely deleted.
8. Data Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your personal data against unauthorised access, loss, or misuse, including secure storage of booking records and restricted staff access to passport and payment details. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security, but we take your data protection seriously and review our practices regularly.
9. Your Rights
Under Kenya’s Data Protection Act, 2019, you have the right to:
- Be informed of how your personal data is used
- Access the personal data we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate or outdated data
- Request deletion of your data, subject to our legal obligation to retain certain booking and financial records
- Object to or restrict certain uses of your data, including marketing communications
- Withdraw consent at any time where we rely on consent, such as for marketing emails
- Lodge a complaint with Kenya’s Office of the Data Protection Commissioner (ODPC) if you believe your data has been mishandled
To exercise any of these rights, contact us using the details in Section 12. We will respond within [confirm: typically 30 days].
10. Children’s Data
We collect children’s travel details (such as passport information for a child included on a family safari booking) only where a parent or legal guardian has provided that information as part of arranging the trip. We do not knowingly collect personal data directly from children without parental involvement.
11. Changes to This Policy
